Welcome from the Acting President, Bob Berghout

Now more than ever, the NTEU is at the forefront of the defence of Higher Education in Australia.

On a day to day basis, the Branch assists members with problems in their workplaces, offering advice, support and advocacy to resolve grievances and disputes. Delegates

Over the years many NTEU members have volunteered as local delegates and contacts for the Union. Your work ensures that the Union has remained connected to staff across the University and especially in your workplace.  Recently, the NTEU has committed to commence a project to revitalise our local structures to ensure a functioning Delegates Network at each University branch.

Become a Delegate Fundamentally a Delegate is a member who has taken on a more active role within his or her own Branch. The term “Delegate’ is used to refer to a wide range of NTEU activists who might also be called departmental representatives, campus representatives, union contacts or something similar. They are not formally recognised in the NTEU rules although some Branches have had Delegates recognised in the provisions of their Enterprise Bargaining Agreement for the purposes of ensuring their involvement in Enteprise Bargaining
