Bargaining Update
At the last meeting on 8th October ACU manangement were expecting the Unions to sign off on a heads of agreement as they had assumed that the Unions had acepted the September amended offer. We were somewhat surprised by this assumption as we had consistently advised them that while the areas of disagreement have been narrowed there are still some significant issues in dispute. This view is been supported by the comments from members posted on this site and as communicated to members of the Branch committee. Particular areas of concern include:
- The expiry date
- General staff classification process
- Academic workloads
- Redundancy provisions
- Proposals to use a from full time to part time as a discipline measure.
The bargaining team is preparing a response oulining these and other concerns and a further bargaining meeting will be held on 28th October.
As always we welcome your coments on this web site.

[ 0 ] I advise that we have reached a basis of an in-principle agreement with the University on our Enterprise Bargaining Agreement. We now need to develop an agreed content to ensure that understandings are as accepted by this note.
