NTEU Seminar: Position Classification for Professional Staff, 12 pm Nov 22.

Posted 8 November 2011 by Kiraz Janicke (University of New South Wales)

Dear Colleagues,

All UNSW Professional Staff are cordially invited to attend an interactive seminar hosted by the National Tertiary Education Union:

“Position Classification – how does it all work?”
Tuesday, 22 November
12-1pm
CLB Theatre 3.

Featuring guest presenters:

Jo Kowalczyk, NTEU State Organiser
Michael Thomson, NTEU President and General Staff member University of Sydney

The seminar will include:

* A history of classification for Professional Staff.
* Work level descriptors and how they interact with position descriptors.
* Entitlements and processes for reclassification at UNSW.
* Question time.

This seminar was initiated because of the volume of queries from Professional Staff about the re-classification process. Recently, following a similar forum at the University of New England, an NTEU member assisted by the union applied for and won a reclassification - with 18 months back pay!

Please RSVP to the NTEU Branch Office on x52493 or email: nteu@unsw.edu.au  if you wish to attend.

A light lunch will be available.

Kind Regards,

Kiraz Janicke | Branch Organiser
