National Workers' Memorial Design Competition

Posted 19 August 2011 by Jane Maze (ACT Division)

A national memorial is to be established in Canberra to honour those working Australians who have lost their lives through work-related accidents, incidents or disease. The National Workers’ Memorial will become an important community gathering place for commemoration and reflection.

A competition to design the Memorial is now open.

The construction of the winning design for the National Workers’ Memorial is scheduled to be completed in December 2012, prior to the celebrations of the Centenary of Canberra in March 2013.

Competition registrations close on 29 September 2011, and entries must be delivered by 3pm 6 October 2011.

The registration form and more information are available at www.nationalcapital.gov.au/nwm
