RACGP application refused by Fair Work Australia
Fair Work Australia has reached a formal decision to dismiss the application by the College for a new agreement.
You can download a copy of the decision here.
As you can see, many of the issues and concerns raised by the NTEU were confirmed by Fair Work Australia, and there needs to be some significant changes to the proposed agreement for it to be approved.
The NTEU has already approached the College about returning to the bargaining table to work together in reaching genuine agreement and developing a collective agreement that protects and improves the conditions of employment for all college staff.
The NTEU opposed the approval of the proposed agreement because we believed it was detrimental to the interests of our members at the College, and we would like to thank them directly for their support through this process and also those staff who have supported us. It was a decision that has now been vindicated.
The NTEU will endeavour to support staff and negotiate a new collective agreement as quickly as possible so that any benefits are delivered quickly, and that current conditions are maintained and protected. The NTEU and its members can only do this with your support, and the best way to support each other is by joining the NTEU. You can join online here.
The more staff who are members of the NTEU will ensure that we are more able to represent and protect staff at the College and win a new collective agreement that will be genuinely supported by all.
