Survey: Outsourcing of general staff rolesThe University of Canberra is exploring options for outsourcing a large number of jobs and has begun discussing them with affected staff. Areas proposed for outsourcing are Maintenance, Ground staff, Stores, Mailroom, ICT, and Finance.
NTEU has discussed the proposal with management and raised serious objections to it. There has also been considerable critical debate about it on UC Chat.
The Union is currently considering making a submission to the UC Council, who will ultimately decide whether to outsource UC jobs.
Your comments will be valuable in helping determine what the NTEU's line on this issue should be, and in making a detailed case to management and Council about how to proceed in a way that is best for UC.
Please cut and paste the short survey below into an email to actdiv@nteu.org.au, fill it in and send it.
All UC staff are welcome to complete this survey.

Casual Academics' ConferencesNTEU will hold a National Casuals' Conference and a series of Division Casuals' Conferences this year as a focus for consultation with casual members on how to improve their working conditions and career paths.
