Campaigns and Activities
CSU Branch is activly involved in the life of the University and in the development of Higher education and social policy| Collective Bargaining | A strong Agreement with: job security for all staff, full staff consultation and involvement in change decisions and processes, and improved pay and conditions for all staff, including reduced workloads and better general staff reclassification outcomes. |
| CSU/SCU Merger | Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ian Goulter, has announced that CSU will undertake a feasibility study in early 2009 to examine the prospects of a merger between CSU, SCU and an unnamed interstate university. |
| Our Universities Matter | Over the last 11 years, universities have battled against inadequate funding, excessive federal government interference, increasing privatisation and corporatisation, and undermining of the principles of freedom of inquiry and expression. NTEU will seek the support of staff, students, universities and the community in campaigning for real improvements for the sector from the outcomes of these reviews |
| Paid Parental Leave | The Productivity Commission recently released its draft report into Paid Parental Leave and has called for submissions in response before making their final report to Government in February 2008. |
| Join the NTEU | By becoming a member of the NTEU you become part of a strong voice that actively participates in the life of the University and contributes to the development of Higher Education Policy at National State and Local level. CSU Branch is active in the support of individual members experiencing difficulties with University Management, and the improvement and ongoing maintenance of our collective employment conditions. | Women & the NTEU | The NTEU is a union committed to enhancing the participationand voice of women members. Women hold positions of influence and power at all levels of the Union,are active on the Union's enterprise bargaining teams, and contribute to the development of the Union�¢??s strategy. |
| Getting Involved | There are many ways to get involved in the work of your Union, from making sure you attend general meetings, to work on University and Union committees, and taking part in our many campaigns.
