Margaret Murphy
I am a cleaner in the Admin Area at JCU. I have worked at the university for eight years, and I have been the NTEU delegate for JCU cleaners for the last twelve months. I have represented the cleaners on their issues over that time and I am well aware how important the Enterprise Agreement we have is to getting a good result. With all this experience I have a good grasp of the issues affecting general staff at James Cook and if elected I will make a real contribution to the negotiations.

Paul Reser
As a member of the NTEU, I have served as a member of the enterprise bargaining committee through four rounds, representing the interests of all staff under mostly constructive and sometimes challenging circumstances.
I am most proud of the efforts we have made regarding parental leave and the provisions for Indigenous employment in the current EBA, both of which would not have been possible without the involvement of many staff who took an interest.
I have worked at JCU in a number of positions from research assistant to Lecturer, and under various arrangements from casual, contract and continuing, and currently am fortunate to hold a joint appointment across two faculties (FHLMS and FAESS). I feel I am in a good position to represent the aspirations of staff wishing to maintain decent conditions of employment at our University – as we are the University as much as the students we serve!

Michael Hunt
My name is Michael Hunt and my position at JCU is that of Acting Manager - Institutional Research, Analysis and Reporting (AKA - Stats). I am nominated to be on the negotiating team for staff, as part of the Staff Consultative Committee (SCC). I am running on the combined union ticket. I am a member of the Australian Services Union and I am a Branch Executive Councillor and National Executive Representative for the ASU National Conference. I have held these positions since 2003. I was heavily involved in the last round of Enterprise Bargaining, at JCU, as the ASU Delegate and have that experience behind me. I believe that as your staff representative I have the right experience to represent your interests and given the ASU's track record in negotiating fair outcomes for all staff, we will continue to ensure that staff positions and staff themselves, will continue to be looked after.

Jan WegnerI have been a union member and activist for many years, served as a member of the JCU Branch Executive and Qld Division Council, and I have been involved in past rounds of enterprise bargaining at JCU. I am currently the NTEU representative on Academic Council and understand very well the environmental and operational imperatives JCU must confront at present.
As an academic based in Cairns I feel I am in a good position to represent the many JCU staff who do not work on the Douglas Campus, and intend to make sure that we are not the forgotten people of this round of bargaining.
