Cases Committee
The University of Sydney Branch Committee handles a large volume of casework on behalf of individual members. Cases cover members’ concerns on many issues, including most commonly, workloads and classifications, job security, appropriate payment for teaching, bullying and harassment, and general working conditions.
In order to ensure effective monitoring of issues affecting NTEU members across the University of Sydney and assist in case management, the Branch Committee of the NTEU at the University of Sydney has agreed on the following protocols in relation to Union inquiries:

The Cases Committee is designed to widen the
circle of members who can handle the increasing case load.
General aims of the committee:
- Review progress of cases
- Pool knowledge of case-handlers
- Provide training/support for new case-handlers or those
picking up cases on unfamiliar issues.

The NTEU has significant industrial experience and members who are highly skilled in dealing with individual matters. The Union will always seek the best outcome for our members in individual cases.
