Strike Advice
Giving notice of industrial action
We must be very clear on the question of responding to information requests from UTAS management to see if you intend striking .
We encourage members not to respond to such requests until after the action. Therefore, you should not give management notice of your individual intention to participate (or not) in industrial action . You should give, when asked, notice of your participation after strike day.
Some members may not have made a final decision on their participation, they may be sick on the day, or may require other forms of leave on the day. Alternatively, a member may decide to participate only on the day, and non-members may join on the day.
Please be clear that the motive behind the request for advance notice of industrial is to try and discourage your participation.
