MEETING OF MEMBERS IN BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS

This meeting is open to all staff in Buildings and Grounds. The meeting is being convened by the Branch Industrial Organiser in conjunction with the delegates.

 

GENERAL STAFF CLASSIFICATION

12:30pm Tuesday 8 April in room 19.1043

All general staff members are invited to participate in this initial discussion around the possible bargaining claims around general staff classification. Specifically we will look at how the current classification/reclassification system works and identify deficiencies with the system that require attention.

 

ACADEMIC PROMOTION SEMINAR

12:30pm Wednesday 9 April in room 41.201

This is the first of a two part series on academic promotion. This first session will deal with tips and hints for applying for promotion from NTEU members who have successfully applied and from NTEU elected officials who have been involved in appeals when members have failed in their application. It will also be an information gathering exercise in terms of improvements the Union might seek during bargaining.

 

The second part, to be held mid-year, will deal with the art of application writing.

This meeting is open to all staff in the Faculty of Arts. The meeting is being convened by Arts Delegates Sam Charles Hawksley, Henri Jeanjean and Mike Donaldson.

 

MEETING OF DELEGATES

3:30pm Tuesday 15 April, venue TBC

This is a follow up meeting of delegates to discuss feedback received from local work areas in respect of local bargaining claims.

Guest speaker – Grahame McCulloch, NTEU General Secretary

 The meeting will discuss, and be asked to endorse:

  • the UoW NTEU Branch Log of Claims including localised claims as developed by the Delegates
  • the NTEU representatives to join the Bargaining Team which negotiates with management for the new University agreement(s)
