Hughes
As at 19 October the declared candidates for the electorate of Hughes are:
Greg Holland - Australian Labor Party NO STATEMENT PROVIDED |
Jamie Paterson - Greens Jamie Paterson, the Greens candidate for Hughes, and his wife Kristen are recent home buyers in Sutherland and are expecting their first child in January. An educational software developer, he has applied to enroll for a Master Degree in eLearning next year. A key issue for the future of the Hughes electorate is funding for Tertiary education. We advocate for access to free university education for Australian citizens, reduced class sizes and improved completion rates through increased student/staff time. Whilst the Labor Party’s IR policy could now be described as ‘Workchoices Lite’, by voting Green you will help us negotiate towards a fairer Industrial Relations system. Unless immediate action is taken to curb our greenhouse emissions, climate change will remain the major threat to our future. “I strongly urge voters to take out 3rd party insurance by voting 1 for the Greens.” www.greens.org.au/Hughes |
