Submission on Sustainability at UQ
A submission to UQ management, from the group "UQ Climate for Change", putting the case for environmental sustainability strategies within UQ, in September, 2008. Download the file below...
UQ Climate for Change is an
independent group formed by students and
staff at UQ to raise awareness and generate action on issues
of
environmental sustainability, and most urgently, on climate change.
We
believe that our Universities, as centres of learning, research
and
critical thought, should demonstrate leadership in
environmental
management and in research and education for sustainability.
Our submission on 'Sustainability at UQ', sets out ideas
for a systemic
and co-ordinated 'Sustainability Plan' that would
integrate
sustainability into UQ's research, operations, teaching and
outreach
activities.
We welcome your views and ideas for further development of an
overarching Sustainability Plan for the University, and encourage
you to
become involved.
