Sustainable UQ

Sustainable UQ : Creating a Climate for Change.

At the University of Queensland, the NTEU Research Committee in conjunction with Climate for Change and the UQ Union Environment Collective organised a forum on "Sustainable UQ" on the 29th of October.  Thanks to our excellent speakers and to everyone who attended.

This page has the presentations and transcripts from the forum, and links to further information about the event and the organisers.

The aims of the forum were to: 1) raise awareness of the need to act on climate change and sustainability; 2) illustrate the scope for Universities to lead in environmental management and advancing research and education for sustainability 3) motivate engagement in the development of an overarching sustainability plan for UQ.

The forum poster can be downloaded HERE: http://www.nteu.org.au/bd/uq/researchcommittee/sustforum/flyer

For an overview of the organising groups and how you can become involved, please visit:  the GET INVOLVED link below.

Collective Bargaining 2008

The NTEU is involved in bargaining for the pay and conditions for all staff at UQ.  In 2008 we have to reach agreement with university management about the next three years.  A strong union can press strong claims.  To be strong we need input from members, and for non-members to join the NTEU.  Below are the links to the latest information on Collective Bargaining.  Some will be available to members only.
Draft Claims This is the draft of the claims to be presented to university management. Please do not distribute to non members.
