Occupational Health & Safety
Individual OHS issues are dealt with by the Industrial Officer for your institution (see the Victorian Division Officers & Staff section for details of Industrial Officer allocation).
From 1 July 2005 the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 replaced the 1985 Act.
The Victorian Trades Hall has established a web site for OHS reps - www.ohsrep.org.au. Full details about the new Act can be found at this site. And if the information you need is not there you can send your questions to the site and they will be answered.
Visit the website and subscribe to the free e-newsletter, SafetyNet.
OHS information can also be found at the WorkSafe web site - www.worksafe.vic.gov.au
Additional information on national OHS issues can be found here.
Below is a downloadable information sheet for Branches on OHS processes in the workplace.
