Teachers Federation Health and Teachers Union Health
Health insurance
In keeping with our commitment to providing our members with a range of benefits and discounts, NTEU members and their families may join the Teachers Federation Health.
This member benefit applies to all members aside from those in Queensland, where the Union have a pre-existing arrangement for our members to be eligible to join the Queensland based, Teachers Union Health.
Teachers Federation Health, established 45 years ago, has 65,000 members and is a not-for-profit health fund that ONLY covers education union members and families.
Teachers Federation Health was established to provide high benefit health cover at a low contribution rate to teachers including members of the AEU, VIEU and IEU. In the past membership has been available to NTEU members in NSW if they became associate members of the NSW Teachers Federation. The requirement for our members to pay an additional associate membership fee has been waived and now all NTEU members across Australia are now eligible to join the fund (other than Queensland members)
Teachers Federation Health offers a full range of services including hospital and ancillary cover all at extremely competitive contribution rates. As well members may also access a comprehensive travel insurance scheme with a 24 hour assistance hotline.
We believe Teachers Federation Health offers NTEU members a cost effective and comprehensive service. Information about the fund is available from your branch office or by contacting the Health Society directly. This service is just one of the many member benefits that are available as a result of your NTEU membership.
