MQU Management attempt to sell out on General Staff conditions

Posted 16 September 2010 by Kaylene Field (University of Western Sydney)

VOTE NO Campaign.

As President of the NTEU UWS Branch my message to all staff at Macquarie and UNSW is to stick together to achieve the best outcome for yourself and your colleagues.  Don’t be fooled by management claims that this is their final offer.  UWS management said the exact same thing.  But UWS Academic Staff stuck together and voted NO.  NTEU then negotiated an improvement in the annualised salary increase from management’s offer of 4.8% per annum to a greater outcome of 5.5% per annum with a shorter expiry date – and protecting our conditions!  We now have a situation at UWS where the Academic Staff have achieved a bigger annualised salary outcome than our general staff colleagues who voted to accept management’s offer.  Don’t let the same divide and rule game succeed at Macquarie and UNSW. Terry Mason NTEU UWS Branch President.

Send a message in solidarity to your colleagues to:Macquarie branch nteu@mq.edu.au and UNSW Branch nteu@unsw.edu.au
