Media coverage of Armidale forum on regional university funding

Posted 3 August 2012 by Carmel Shute (NTEU National Office)

A hundred people attended the NTEU forum in Armidale on 2 August on investment in regional universities. Keynote speaker was ABC Radio National science broadcaster Robyn Williams who (as usual) wowed the audience. Host NTEU National president Jeannie Rea sdaid through the tumultuous applause, "Now you know why he voted a national treasure".

To hear a short interview with Robyn by the Q& A moderator, Kelly Fuller from ABC Tamworth and the contribution from Richard Hil, author of Wakademia, go to:

The Armidale forum is the first in a series being held across regional Australia by the National Tertiary Education Union design to highlight the role of universities in communities, and to draw attention to the issues they are facing in the future.
