Academic Workloads: Is Your Allocation Fair for 2012
As the CSU NTEU Branch progresses the campaign for fair workloads at CSU, we remind all academics to check their teaching workload allocation for 2012.
Quick reminders:
Teaching work should not exceed 1035 hours over a calendar period.
Completing a Research Higher Degree should count towards your full 30% research/ professional/ creative output in most circumstances.
Early career academics should be working at a reduced teaching workload of 60% the full time equivalent.
Casual academics should be allocated the same marking time as ongoing staff. For example, if your School Workload Policy states that marking time is allocated at 2 hours per student, then a subject with 2 equal assessment items should allocate 1 hour’s marking for each assessment item.
