NTEU's Initial Response to University Management's Formal Change Proposal

Here is the NTEU USYD Branch's initial response to the University of Sydney's Formal Change Proposal 2012 Budget Strategy, released on Friday, February 3.

    [ 0 ] When I was studying exercise physiology sydney at UNSW a lot of our lecturers were being put under a TONNE of undue pressure from management to always try and get more students into the course, even to the disadvatnage of students themselves. Similarly a lot of them were on year to year contracts, which is ridiculous.

    [ +1 ] I strongly agree with both (unanimous and Carina's). The Union should consider leagal action towards the VC's change proposal.

    [ -1 ] I feel that legal action will be imminent. I have news that overseas outsourcing company is currently negotiating with the management to outsource Finance,HR & other areas.

    [ +1 ] My impression is that only legal action will force the management at Usyd to make changes to the 'change plan'.
