NTEU Academic Workload Calculator
NTEU Academic workload calculator version 1.5
Published: 18 Sep, 2012Tags: NTEU academic workload calculator,
We anticipate that the spreadsheet will undergo further refinement, and we will post new versions as they become available. Please make sure you are using Version 1.3. We are continually improving the calculator and welcome your feedback.
The calculations in the spreadsheet are based on the tables and information contained in the Academic Workload Guidelines, which have been negotiated over the last 18+ months by the Academic Workload Development Committee. Please download the guidelines from the UTAS website, at the following link:
http://www.human-resources.utas.edu.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0005/257891/Academic-Workload-Guidelines-2012.pdf
We encourage all academic members to recalculate their 2012 workloads with the aid of this spreadsheet, and to request a formal review of your workload where there appears to be a large discrepancy between this spreadsheet and your existing School or Faculty workload model.
We also encourage academic members to re-calculate their teaching and administrative workloads with the assistance of this spreadsheet over the last three years, as this will provide a clearer picture of your capacity for research over this period. We believe that such information will be vital in the upcoming "conversations" that each academic is destined to have with their HoS / performance manager as part of the Academic re-profiling process which is now getting underway
If you have any questions about the spreadsheet, particularly if you find errors or inconsistencies in its operation, please contact either John Kenny or Kelvin Michael.
