2007 Women's Conference

The NTEU National Women’s Conference will be held on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 July 2007.  There will be a meeting of the Women’s Action Committee on Friday 6 July.

Topics for discussion include: The International Trafficking of Women. Parental Leave—focus on return to work rights. Gender Pay Equity—new NTEU study proposal. 2007 Federal Election—hear from the Political Parties. Activist Training Workshops: *Getting involved and getting elected in NTEU *Campaigning around workplace disputes *Applying for Promotion(Academic Staff) *Applying for Reclassification(General Staff) VENUE
Please note that the conference will be held at the FEU Conference Rooms, Ground Floor, 120 Clarendon St, South Melbourne
FUNDING ARRANGEMENTS
The National Office is funding one representative from each Higher Education Branch, one woman representative from NTEU’s Indigenous Committee, and four additional positions from student unions, TAFE, RACGP and other tertiary branches.  Divisions and Branches are encouraged to send staff who have carriage of Women’s issues at the expense of the Division or Branch.  Members of the WAC are also deemed to be representing their Branch for the purposes of National funding.  There are additional places available should Branches and Divisions wish to send additional delegates.
REGISTRATION
You will find a link below to the Registration form for the National Women’s Conference.  Please ensure that all those attending the Conference send their Registration Form to National Office before Friday 15th June 2007. You MUST be selected by your Branch in order to be a nationally funded delegate, and should provide a report to your Branch after the conference.
LATE REGISTRATION/LATE CANCELLATION FEE/LATE CHANGES FEES
All registrations are to be lodged on or before Friday 15th June 2007. Any registrations after this date WILL incur a late fee, and late registrations may not be accepted. As all bookings will be made using the cheapest Internet fares, if a cancellation is made and the booking is a non-refundable fare then the flight booking will be charged back to the Branch/Division. A cancellation fee will be charged for any registered participants who cancel after they have registered for the conference.  This charge will reflect what the Hotel and airlines charge for booking.
