Delegates & Organising I
Module Overview
This basic module for new Branch delegates, activists, contacts or representatives looks at union structure and functions, information dissemination, communicating with members and current and key issues.
Module Objectives
By the end of this module participants will be able to:
- Describe the key elements of NTEU structure, membership coverage, functions and policy at all levels of the Union with particular emphasis on the local Branch
- List the key responsibilities and tasks required of a Branch Delegate
- Identify a number of recruitment and organising opportunities available to Branch Delegates
- Discuss, in general terms, issues of particular relevance and import to the Branch and its members
- Identify sources of assistance, guidance and support available within and outside the Branch
- List a short and medium term goal to be achieved as a Delegate
