Getting Involved/Getting Elected
Module Overview
A short lunchtime module for rank and file members, particularly those new to the Union and those in underrepresented areas, designed to provide an understanding of the union structures, demystify the union election process and encourage participation in the union.
Module Objectives
By the end of this module participants will be able to:
- Identify the reasons for getting more involved in NTEU or elected to the Branch Committee
- Identify the local union contacts
- Understand the basic structure of the NTEU
- Identify and list which positions are up for election (where relevant)
- Understand the election processes
- Identify the basic information needed to run in NTEU election
