Introduction to the NTEU
Module Overview
This lunch time introductory module for new members covers the structure, key functions and current issues being dealt with by NTEU.
It is designed to give new members an overview of the union and provide them with information about the local Branch including the key issues, who the office bearers are, when and where meetings are held and who to contact if necessary.
Module Objectives
By the end of this module participants will be able to:
- Briefly outline the advantages of union membership
- Identify the key elements of local, Divisional and National NTEU structures
- Briefly review the key issues currently being dealt with by the NTEU
- List a number of avenues for increasing involvement in the NTEU
