Module Overview
This is a flexible module focusing on the communication skills required for successful recruitment and identifying strategies for linking industrial issues to recruitment.
Module Objectives
By the end of this module participants will be able to:
- List a range of information you should have or know before beginning to recruit
- Apply a variety of one-on-one recruitment approaches through participation in a series of structured activities
- Discuss the types of additional resources and materials necessary for effective recruitment.

- Guidelines for approaching potential members
- The Union facts – information needed to recruit
- Dealing with tricky questions, objections and resistance
- Structured communication activities
- Record keeping and follow up
Additional Recruitment Module
There is an additional module available for Branch Committee members entitled, Recruitment Planning and Preparation. This module focuses on the steps involved in planning and preparing for a recruitment campaign.
