West Australian article on Insecure Work Inquiry

Posted 7 February 2012 by Emma Clancy (WA Division)

One of the NTEU's Murdoch branch members, Brad Evans, spoke to the West Australian on January 24 about his experiences as a casual university staff member. The article focuses on Unions WA's response to the ACTU-commissioned Independent Inquiry into Insecure Work.

The NTEU is supporting the ACTU's campaign for 'Secure Jobs - Better Future' (securejobs.com.au) and has made a written submission to the Inquiry about casual and contract work in the tertiary education sector, which is available to download from the NTEU's website.

The Inquiry into Insecure Work will be holding a hearing in Perth on February 20, and casual and contract workers are encouraged to come along and make a submission about their experiences in insecure work.

If you would like to make a submission at the Inquiry hearing on February 20 please contact Emma on 6365 4188 to make arrangements.
