NTEU Launches Education Advertising Campaign in Darwin

Dr Carolyn Allport, NTEU National President, will launch the National Tertiary Education Union's Darwin TV advertisement at the Northern Territory University tomorrow. The advertisement is part of the Union's campaign to foreground tertiary education issues in the Federal Election campaign.
Dr Allport said that access to higher education was a big issue for people in regional Australia, and particularly remote areas.
'The Northern Territory University does a great job in meeting the needs of the region, but I has been hamstrung by Federal government funding cuts,' she said. 'Local politicians and would-be politicians need to get the message that they must support their university if they are to serve their communities.'
The advertisement will be launched at 1pm at the Northern Territory University (NTU) Student Union, NTU Campus.
