New NTEU website launched
5 April 2002
Today the National Tertiary Education Union launches its new dynamic national website. The new site has a variety of interactive and specialised features that will allow easy access to information and increased member involvement online.
NTEU National President Dr Carolyn Allport said The new site is an exciting development and is part the unions commitment to increasing communication with both members and the community.
The site is the culmination of extensive feedback from members and elected officials and has been designed to further facilitate campaigns and communication amongst the unions 25,000 members.
The site has a variety of new features that will be of interest to NTEU members, the higher education community, and the general public. Selected areas of the site are accessible only via a password login-feature, including access to industrial awards and enterprise agreements, on-line discussion groups, membership benefits information and personalised homepages for members.
NTEU State Divisions and University Branches are hosted by the new website and are in the process of being developed in consultation with members and elected officials.
A range of additional features will be launched on-line over the coming months. The first of these will be the ability for new members to join on-line. Extensive data on institutional funding, student to staff ratios and staff salaries will also be available to members.
The new NTEU site is available online at the unions existing URL www.nteu.org.au
