Position Vacant: Industrial Officer (Tas)
NTEU is the principal staff union in the Australian higher education sector, representing both academic and general staff in universities and other higher education institutions.
The Tasmanian Division of the NTEU seeks an Industrial Officer. The position is based in Hobart, but regular travel to the University of Tasmania and Australian Maritime College campuses in the north of Tasmania will be necessary.
The Industrial Officer works closely with the Tasmanian Division Council and the NTEU National Office in Melbourne, but is broadly responsible for the business of the Union within Tasmania. This includes provision of advice to members on industrial matters, recruitment, delegate network establishment, implementation of industry wide campaigns, and negotiation of EBAs.
The position is full time with flexible hours around a basic regime of higher education hours, Monday to Friday. Salary will be in the NTEU Level 6-7 range ($59,370-$74,385). A 17% employer superannuation contribution also applies.
