NTEU Organiser elected first female President of South Coast Labour Council

Jo Kowalczyk, NTEU Branch Organiser at the University of Wollongong, was yesterday elected as President of the South Coast Labour Council.
Jo's election makes her the first woman to fill the role of president in 78 years, and also represents a generational change for South Coast unions.
The Council represents 53,000 members from from 30 unions and the new president hopes "to get more women involved at the delegate level and serving in executive positions".
The NTEU congratulates Jo on her election.
