NTEU Update - QUT Early Retirement Scheme

Posted 5 November 2010 by David Singh (Queensland University of Technology)

Dear Members,

As foreshadowed last month, QUT management has now sent an offer of early retirement to eligible staff members.  It is pleasing that the offer has been extended to staff in the eligible categories who are over the age of 65, as this was raised by NTEU representatives with University management recently.

Please contact the NTEU through the QUT Branch Office if you need any advice or assistance about the scheme, or if you have any questions.

For members who may be considering the offer, it is also important to have advice from your superannuation fund or your own financial advisor.  As a union member you can also access financial advice services through ACTU Member Connect on 1300 362 223 or through Union Shopper on 1300 368 117.

Phil Heywood, Branch President
