Academic Workloads. Come and have your say
Over the past 18 months your NTEU and staff representatives have been involved in a working party going through a number of drafts for a possible University wide Academic Workloads model as is required under the current EBA. Recently an email was sent to all staff by the NTEU and your staff representatives outlining where there was unanimous disagreement overall with the model management is now putting to Heads of School for feedback. It is important to note that the draft currently being put to Heads of School for feedback is not accepted by all your representatives and the NTEU.
Your union and your staff representatives believe it is now time to give you a briefing on the 'state of play' with the working party's deliberations and to offer the potential for an alternative course of action so as to get a workload formula that will apply to you from 2014 at least.
An NTEU meeting for all academic members of staff (both NTEU members and non-members) has been called as a result.
When?
Wednesday 1 August 12.30 p.m. - 1.30 p.m.
Where?
A120 - Coffs Harbour
A204 - TH/GC Beachside
U231 - Lismore
LV 3 Meeting Room - TH/GC Riverside.
Why?
To bring you up to speed on this very important issue, to give you a chance to give feedback and to offer alternative strategies if required. (Only NTEU members will be able to vote on any motions put to the meeting)
Kate Mitchell - SCU NTEU President
Dr Jenny Johnston - SCU NTEU Vice President (Academic)
