National Accreditation Body
In January, 2008, the MCEETYA Joint Committee on Higher Education (JCHE) called for responses to the PhilipsKPA discussion paper about the desirability of establishing a national accreditation body.
The consultation paper canvassed a number of issues associated with establishing a national accreditation body for higher education institutions. It outlined some of the strengths and weaknesses of a national accreditation body. The consultation paper also outlined very briefly a number of models for how a national accreditation body could be established and operated.
It should be noted that the establishment of a national accreditation body had been flagged early in the review of the National Protocols undertaken by MCEETYA in 2006.
You will find on this page the PhilipsKPA consultation paper, released in January 2008 and the NTEU's response. The Union will continue to monitor this issue as it relates to the National Protocols and National Guidelines.
