Intellectual Property
Intellectual Property (IP) is an increasingly complicated area in universities. It refers to a range of rights relating to ownership and control of the products of intellectual endeavour. IP includes copyright, patents, trademarks, design, circuit layout rights, plant breeder’s rights and trade secrets.
IP rights in tertiary education are central to the professional identity and development of staff. NTEU works to protect and promote those rights.
This section of the website provides members with further information about these rights, and also provides links to other relevant organisations, legislation and policy.
