Victorian Review of University Governance NTEU submission to the Victorian Review of University Governance, February 2002
Teaching and Teacher Education Review The NTEU welcomes the Commonwealth Government’s Review and the opportunity to address the strategic concerns with teaching in the Sciences, Technology and Mathematics. The NTEU has a strong interest in the outcomes of the current Review, for it impacts across all education sectors, both public and private. The union also represents members who work in teacher training within universities.
ACCC Submission December 2002 The NTEU believes that the ACCC should uphold JCU’s notification for immunity from legal action under the Trade Practices Act in relation to the requirement that students gain and maintain membership of the JCU Student Association (JCU SA). This is based on the substantial public benefits that the NTEU believes flow from this conduct to the University, its staff and its students, and the negative impacts that would arise were the University forced to restructure its present arrangements.
HEFA Bill Senate Submission Part 2 Further to our submission of 26 July, I provide the following supplementary submission. This submission particularly focuses the need for an ongoing and enduring process to deal with claims by higher education providers to a range of public subsidies. Its intention is to facilitate a framework to develop such a process.

Crossroads Supplemtary Submission September 2002 In preparing this supplementary submission, NTEU has focused on speaking to the general reform framework and the policy mechanisms to affect such reform, either contained in the supplementary papers or put forward by Government and other participants as part of the Crossroads consultations. As such, evidence put forward in our original submission to the general paper earlier this year, remains important and relevant in substantiation of the views expressed herein.
