Counting of votes finished shortly after the close of the ballot yesterday (21 December) with an overwhelming  96.4% of valid votes endorsing the new Enterprise Agreement for the University of Queensland.

However this voter turnout represents around one-third of full time staff at the University.

The result represents a significant milestone for NTEU members who campaigned over a the last 18 months, and signifies real gains in the wages, rights and conditions for all staff employed at the University of Queensland.

The agreement will be submitted to Fair Work Australia for registration, and will take effect early in the New Year.
