Delegates
Want to be a delegate?
We are currently consolidating a delegate network across QUT to build collective strength, give members more say in their workplace, and help implement the agreement.
Assisting the network can mean a variety of things - welcoming new members, assisting with NTEU recruitment campaigns or becoming a contact point for other members in your area. Becoming a NTEU Delegate is not an arduous commitment, you can volunteer as little as 1 hour per month and pursue issues that interest you.
Delegates also have access to training and development leave under the Enterprise Agreement and are supported by the Branch Organiser, Industrial Officer and Committee.
If you are interested in becoming a delegate in your workplace, please fill in the form below and we will get in touch with you. Alternatively, you can contact the NTEU branch on (07) 31385452 or email hkemp@nteu.org.au.
NTEU Delegates Kit
The NTEU has prepared a a Delegates Kit. If you are an NTEU delegate, you should contact your Branch Office to get a hardcopy of the kit.
You can also download the NTEU Delegates Kit from our Library.
Your Dec 2011 Pay Rise
Please consider having a chat with your colleagues about the NTEU, perhaps using the pay rise as a conversation starter. "So did you get that flyer about the pay rise the NTEU sent round? Do you have 10 minutes to have a chat about the union?" You might want to share with them why you are an NTEU member, what are the workplace practices that you aspire to, any examples you have seen or heard about of members working together with the union committee and staff to resolve their issues and ask them what they think...
