WA Division Libraries Forum Panellists announced
The NTEU WA Divison Library Activists Network is pleased to announce the panellists for the upcoming Library Forum “Is there a Future for Libraries”, to be held at Curtin University on June 8, from 1-4.30pm.
Innovative Tasmanian librarian Garry Conroy-Cooper will be the keynote speaker at the forum which will also hear from a diverse mix of interstate and local library staff panelists at both sessions:
1) The future for libraries in Australia:
Garry Conroy-Cooper – Manager LINC Tasmania
Barbara Combes - Lecturer, Charles Sturt University, WASLA President, Operations, Vice President International Association School Libraries Advocacy and Promotion Consultant
Jill Benn - Associate Director Research and Learning Support, University of Western Australia
2) The future for staff in academic libraries:
Gabe Gooding - NTEU WA President, NTEU National Vice President General Staff
Stephen McVey - Director, Library Services, University of Notre Dame Australia
Steven Fleming - Library Assistant, Curtin University
Each session will provide plenty of interactive Q&A and panel discussion, in what promises to be a lively and vital forum on the situations and issues facing libraries, and library staff- today and into the future.
The sessions will be held in the University Club Rooms 104.101, and offers afternoon tea and refreshments for attendees.
