Casual and Sessional Academic Staff at UoN: You are invited to have your say!
There are currently two important opportunities for the voices of Casual and Sessional Academic staff to be heard at the University of Newcastle and in our Sector:
UoN Review of Casual Academic Staff
Under your union negotiated enterprise agreements, University of Newcastle management is required to undertake a review of casual employment and consult on findings with your Academic Staff Consultative Committee.This review is an important part of future workforce planning and an opportunity for your experiences as a casual or sessional employee at the University of Newcastle to be heard.
An on-line survey link has been emailed to all casual academic staff and we encourage you to participate by completing the survey. NTEU Casual Academic and Research Staff Survey 2012
The NTEU is also wants to hear from casual academic staff, "Are you getting paid your fair share?"
Did you start as a casual teaching or casual research staff member at an Australian university in 2012, or were you employed casually in 2011?
If yes, then please consider filling out the NTEU’s Casual Survey. We want to know if the entitlements you and your colleagues have bargained for are being properly implemented at your university, and gather information on your experiences as a casual or sessional employee.
