General Staff Reclassification - New Round

CSU management have announced a new round of General Staff Reclassification, with applications being accepted until close of business on Thursday 15th March. The University process for reclassification can be found here.


It is important to note that, while there is continuing work that needs to be done to improve this process, in the last round of enterprise bargaining we achieved a number of improvements. The conditions required by the Enterprise Agreement include:


  • The requirement that all General Staff positions have a duty statement that outlines the position role, duties, selection criteria and the position to which the incumbent reports to;
  • Access to reclassification facilitators to advise applicants on the preparation of their application (contact Human Resources who will direct you to a facilitator that can advise you)
  • The right to apply for reclassification without approval from the staff member’s supervisor


General Staff positions are classified according to the work required of that position (not the individual) in accordance with The General Staff Position Descriptions in the Enterprise Agreement and are not subject to funding source or availability.
