Monitoring Impacts of ERA and Research Quality Measures on University Staff
NTEU Research Project in 2012
We are looking for University of Melbourne staff to participate in one hour focus group workshops in June and July 2012. These focus groups will explore the effects of recent research quality measures such as the Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) upon staff (including professional and general staff members) involved in academic and research tasks.

Details:

Like other focus groups, we intend to record the discussion and de-identify participants during transcription. During the focus groups we will provide refreshments.

Purpose:
|
These focus groups are being conducted to support research by NTEU National Office. It will inform a Report that will be tabled at the NTEU National Council later in 2012 to shape the NTEU’s position on ERA. The Report will be published and made publicly available.

Target Sample:
|
Each focus group will concentrate upon a group of staff who share a particular type of employment. The two key types of employment are:
We are looking where possible to conduct some workshops with staff exclusively from Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) or Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) backgrounds. |
