Anna Stewart Program

Posted 31 May 2012 by Catherine Kirkman (Tas Division)

Are you a female member of the NTEU Tasmanian Division? Looking to be more active within the NTEU, make some connections with other women - or interested in unions, industrial relations etc?
Attached is a flyer with information and application details for the upcoming “Anna Stewart Program”.  This is a free, 8 day work-experience like program run through Unions Tas with the assistance and involvement of affiliated unions (like NTEU).
The program includes training sessions, visits to relevant community and government worksites and services as well involvement and periods of time spent working at the participants own union and other unions.
Participants complete a project within the program – and the theme/topic for this year is the ‘Secure Work Campaign’.

The program runs from 7-16 August inclusive and participants are expected to spend most of this time in Hobart. The NTEU Tasmanian Division will consider funding travel and accommodation for Northern/North-western members.

All continuing and fixed term staff are able to access Trade Union Training leave on full pay for up to 10 working days (p.a.) for the purpose of attending this or other union courses.

We would really like some of our members to attend this very worthwhile course.
