Dear Members,


You may be aware of the current struggle over the independence and funding of Postgraduate Student representation here at Macquarie.  The University is making what we believe to be unreasonable demands of MUPRA and is apparently seeking to destroy any remaining independent student voice on campus.

The issues of independent student advocacy and the funding of student activities have never been more relevant.  The current Government's totally inadequate remediation of the Howard Government's VSU agenda has handed even more discretionary power over student funds to University administrations.

As part of the campaign to preserve independent student representation, the National Tertiary Education Union (NTEU) and Macquarie University Postgraduate Representative Association (MUPRA) cordially invite you to a forum, entitled
